Rainier Valley Food Bank is hosting its third annual Columbia City Chow Down on Tuesday, July 23, from 6 to 10 p.m. This year more restaurants than ever are participating! Proceeds from the event support one of Seattle’s busiest food banks, providing healthy food to hungry neighbors since 1991.
“We are thrilled to partner once again with Columbia City’s best, most exciting restaurants, and are depending on the community’s support to make our third annual Chow Down a resounding, delicious success,” said Sam Osborne, Rainier Valley Food Bank’s executive director. “Chow Down has become a local favorite event, and we want everyone to know just how critical the funds and awareness we raise are to feeding the nearly 12,000 people who now depend on us every month for healthy food.”
The purchase of a “passport” grants participants the ability to explore and sample some of the neighborhood’s best eateries. Participating restaurants include: Afrikando Banadir, Bananas Grill, Empire Espresso, Full Tilt Ice Cream, Geraldine’s Counter, Hummingbird Saloon, Island Soul, Jones Original BBQ, Jus Bar, La Teranga, Lottie’s Lounge, Rookie’s Sports Bar & Grill, Safari Njema Restaurant, St. Dames Café, Tutta Bella Neapolitan Pizzeria, The Spice Room, Wabi Sabi Sushi & Restaurant.
